Many a movie fan already knows IMAX is one of the premiere ways to experience a blockbuster on the big screen, but now the experience is about to get even better; as IMAX Corporation confirm they will launch their new laser projection system at the one of its flagship cinemas; at The Empire Leicester Square.
The Empire Leicester Square will be the first cinema in Europe to launch the new technology, which will not only provide a new level of immersive audio, but create “the sharpest, brightest, clearest, and most vivid digital images ever”; all on the Empire’s 87 foot, wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling screen (one of the biggest in the UK).
IMAX, and Empire, will launch the new system on October 2nd, debuting it with The Walk: An IMAX 3D Experience, with IMAX EMEA President Andrew Cripps saying the company is “raising the benchmark once again with the launch of IMAX with laser at Empire Leicester Square… particularly with the strong upcoming slate of films like The Walk, Crimson Peak, SPECTRE, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, that demand to be seen in this new format.”
