Pre-production on the next Riddick installment; the follow-up to both Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick; is now well underway (despite the fact that it looked as if the film was close to being called off altogether at one point), and in order to prove to fans that all is well in camp Riddick, star Vin Diesel recently posted some new concept art for the upcoming film online (now available to view below).
Diesel sounds unsurprisingly excited about the development of the picture so far; letting his Facebook followers know “how much I enjoy concept art and storyboards”, that “the Director and his team of artists have been creating the world and style of the picture”, and how he always finds “the early stage of CGI fascinating”; and even talked up the filming schedule of the new movie.
An official announcement about the shooting schedule hasn’t been made as such, though casting is now underway, production had been slated to begin later this month, and Diesel has now confirmed that the “first stop for the Riddick production is Canada, which is where we shot a large part of Chronicles”; meaning fans of the character will soon get the chance to once again get to see another David Twohy directed movie about the baddest man in space.
