Fox have just released the latest one sheet for their projected summer blockbuster X-Men: First Class (which can now be seen below, and clicked to view in better quality); the upcoming prequel to the X-Men trilogy; which chronicles the beginning of the relationship between professor Charles Xavier, and Erik Lensherr (better known as Magneto).
Offering nothing new in terms of spoilers, plot hints, or previously unreleased characters, the new poster does have its flaws, and suffers (as some of the previously released posters have) from some fairly questionable photoshopping, although for anyone who hasn’t seen any images from the film thus far, it does at least provide a look at the movie’s major characters.
James McAvoy (Wanted) leads the cast as Xavier, with Michael Fassbender (Centurion) picking up the part of Magneto, and also becoming involved with the mutant heavy romp through the height of the Cold War in the 1960s will be Kevin Bacon (Hollow Man), Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone), Nicholas Hoult (Clash of the Titans, 2010), January Jones (Anger Management), Jason Flemyng (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), Rose Bryne (Knowing), Oliver Platt (The Big C), and Ray Wise (Robocop).
X-Men: First Class will be the first of a potential franchise of X-Men prequel movies to be directed by Matthew Vaughn, and is due to be released on June 2nd in the UK, before making its US release date on June 3rd. Anyone wanting to catch a glimpse of footage from the film before release can see the official trailer here.
