Coming from the man who gave the world the Transformers movies (Michael Bay), Pain & Gain looks to be very different from his usual explosion-filled blockbusters, but given the talent and physiques on display in the newly released poster and stills (available to view on the right, and below) the testosterone factor alone threatens to make anyone who even thinks about looking at this movie explode.
Starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (the G.I. Joe: Retaliation star who’s former wrestling nickname is more than appropriate for this movie), Mark Wahlberg (The Fighter), and Anthony Mackie (Real Steel), Pain & Gain has been based on a Miami New Times newspaper article, and follows a trio of gym mates who decide to extort money from a wealthy businessman who attends their gym.
Co-starring Rebel Wilson (Bridesmaids), Ed Harris (The Way Back), Ken Jeong (The Hangover Part 2), Tony Shalhoub (Monk), and Kurt Angle (Warrior), Pain & Gain is due to hit cinemas on April 26th in the US, before won’t make its UK release until May 3rd.
