Following on from Piranha 3D; the gimmicky 2010 movie which, despite being sold on nothing more than the premise it’d offer up a whole lot of boobs and gore, was immensely successful (and actually rather fun); Piranha 3DD is taking the same mantra, and going for double the D’s; as evident by the minimized role the piranhas have taken in the newly released posters below.
Not only upping the level of boobs and gore, Piranha 3DD is also upping its use of nostalgia-inducing/comedy celebrities; with a cast list that includes not only the returning Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future) and Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction), but David Hasselhoff (Knight Rider), and Gary Busey (Lethal Weapon).
This time out the dreadful spindly killer fish will manage to find their way into a newly opened water park, and wreak their fair share of havoc on a largely unknown cast that includes Danielle Panabaker (Shark), Chris Zylka (Shark Night 3D), and 30 Rock’s Katrina Bowden, when it’s released on May 11th in the UK, and on June 1st in the US.
