It was only two years ago that fans of the dreadful-spindly-killer-fish, and boobs (lots of boobs), were drooling at the mouth over the boob/gore-fest that was Piranha 3D; a movie which fully exploited the medium of 3D for gimmicky shock/comic effect in equal measure, and proved to be a huge success along the way (raking in over $83m from a budget of only $24m); and soon, judging by the new Piranha 3DD trailer (available to view below), fans of the original will get get another fill of boobs, fish, and washed-up celebrities.
Directed by John Gulager (Feast), Piranha 3DD has been written by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton (the pair behind Saw 3D), will once again star both Ving Rhames (now complete with gun-attachment-leg), and Christopher Lloyd, and feature a cast that includes not only the likes of Danielle Panabaker (Shark), Matt Bush (Nice Guy Johnny), and David Koechner (Final Destination 5), but both David Hasselhoff (in full Baywatch attire), and Gary Busey, and will see the deadly fish using the plumbing system to invade a local waterpark, when it’s eventually released on an as yet unannounced date.
