While it’s highly unlikely that the fourth installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean series; Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides; will be remembered as fondly as the likes of classics such as Snow White, the Lion King, or Toy Story, it’s now passed another hugely important milestone, and become the highest grossing Disney movie of all time (internationally).
While it’s still got some ways to go to surpass the takings of Box Office giants such as Avatar (which grossed over $2 billion worldwide), and Titanic (which grossed $1.2 billion worldwide), On Strangers Tides has taken over $907.4 million so far; making it not only the highest grossing film of the year so far (by a fair margin), but also the fourth highest grossing movie of all time at the international Box Office (behind only Avatar, Titanic, and Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King).
Directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago), and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (Top Gun), On Stranger Tides can still be found playing at cinemas nationwide, is now even closer to getting the inevitable fifth movie into production, and has been reviewed by us, here.
