Not content with letting a single soul forget that a fourth installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise (titled Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) is soon to be released, Disney are continuing to dole out more and more teasers, the latest of which includes a short video featurette (which can be seen below), and a new poster which can be seen on the right.
While the new materials offer no new information (and the poster is actually just an amalgamation of ones previously seen here, here, and here), they are still very nice to look at, and shouldn’t need to explain that much; as we already know that Johnny Depp will once again star as pirate Captain Jack Sparrow, in the supernatural action/adventure movie that will see him link up with an ex-flame (played by Blow co-star Penelope Cruz), re-team with old rivals (such as Geoffrey Rush’s character Captain Barbossa), and face fearsome new enemies (such as zombies, mermaids, and the dreaded pirate Blackbeard; played by Deadwood star Ian McShane).
Directed by Chicago’s Rob Marshall, On Stranger Tides promises to bring back the fun and spirit of adventure that made the first film in the franchise such a hit back in 2003, when it finally gets its 3D release on May 18th in the UK, and on May 20th in the US.
