Seemingly intent on not letting a single soul forget that we have a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie being released in a couple of months, Walt Disney Pictures have just added to the ever-growing number of images, posters, banners, concept art, and trailers, they have released to promote the film; by releasing a new one sheet for the franchise’s latest installment (which can be viewed below); Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
Debuting over at IGN, the poster doesn’t provide much new information about the film, but does look pretty cool; as it focusses heavily on Johnny Depp’s iconic Captain Jack Sparrow (intently gazing on something out of shot), and features a number of mermaids, a rather large ship having some fire issues, and a shrunken head that’s rumoured to have been crafted from a cast of Orlando Bloom’s face (who played Will Turner in the previous movies).
On Stranger Tides (which will be the fourth installment in the Pirates’ franchise) will place the eccentric pirate (Sparrow) on a quest to find the Fountain of Youth; accompanied by the fearsome pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane, The Pillars of the Earth), and an ex-girlfriend named Angelica (Penelope Cruz, Blow).
Geoffrey Rush (The King’s Speech) and Keith Richards (of The Rolling Stones) will also be reprising their roles as pirate Captain’s Barbossa and Teague (Sparrow’s father) respectively, in the Rob Marshall (Chicago) directed movie that’s being released in 3D on May 18th in the U.K. and two days later; on May 20th; in the U.S.
