As we’re still roughly two months away from release, it’s hard to picture just what other treats and previews the marketers for the new Pirates of the Caribbean could possibly have in store for us; as we’ve already seen a slew of images, concept art, a trailer, numerous posters (one of which can be seen on the right, and clicked to be viewed in full size), and now another trailer (which has just been released online) available to view below.
Explaining more of the plot than any previous footage, the new trailer shows Jack Sparrow (once again played by Johnny Depp) embarking on a quest to find the infamous Fountain of Youth, and features much more action, zombies, mermaids, evil mermaids, and Ian McShane (the Deadwood star who’s appearing for the first time in the series; as the villainous pirate Blackbeard) than ever before (as well as a pretty natty giant flamethrower).
Featuring Penelope Cruz (Blow) as jack’s ex-flame Angelica, Keith Richards (of The Rolling Stones) as Jack’s father Teague, and Geoffrey Rush (The King’s Speech) as his long-time friend/enemy Captain Barbossa, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (the 4th movie in the Pirates franchise, but the first to be released in 3D) has been directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago), and is due to be released in the U.K. on May 18th, and on May 20th in the U.S.
