Coming from director Sanjay Patel (a Pixar animator who’s worked on many of the company’s most loved releases since starting on A Bug’s Life), Sanjay’s Super Team is a “mostly true” personal story of his own journey to understand his parents’ Hindu culture.
Telling the tale of a young, first-generation Indian-American boy whose love of western pop culture clashes with the traditions of his father, Sanjay’s Super Team sees Sanjay absorbed into a world of cartoons and comics while his father attempts to show him more traditional Hindu practices, and sets Sanjay on a journey he never imagined.
Screening at the London Film Festival this Sunday (October 18th), from 11am, as part of a selection of ‘Animated Shorts For Younger Audiences’, this is your first chance to see this wonderfully original tale.
Sanjay’s Super Team will open in cinemas, ahead of Disney/Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur, on November 27th.
