So far the marketing campaign for Dreamworks’ upcoming Shrek-spin-off Puss in Boots has been excellent; giving us an amusing motion poster, a couple of traditional trailers, and even a hilarious video explaining how he’s so legendary; and the film’s latest ad looks to continue the fun, by parodying the recent Old Spice commercial.
Yes, in the video below Puss (who’s once again being played by Assassins’ Antonio Banderas) plays a parody of The Old Spice Man, in order to promote the upcoming film which will see him, Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakis, The Hangover), and a street-wise cat named Kitty (Salma Hayek, From Dusk Till Dawn) on a quest to steal the famous fairytale Goose that lays the Golden Eggs.
Also featuring the voices of Walt Dorn (Shrek) and Billy Bob Thornton (Faster), Puss in Boots is set years before the events of the Shrek movies, and is due to receive its 3D release on November 4th in the US, before making its way onto UK cinema screens on December 9th.
