Every time Quentin Tarantino makes a media appearance, there’s going to be headlines. The man has become such a staple of modern cinema that everything he says is newsworthy. Whether it be his views on current events or his favourite movies of the year, people care about what he has to say. So it’s not surprising that his interview with What the Flick?’s Ben Mankiewicz has made some news outlets hot and bothered.
The one thing that’s getting people excited is Tarantino saying that a third Kill Bill movie could still be happening. He explained, “There’s definitely a possibility, stop short of saying a probability. I put the character of Beatrix Kiddo through a lot, so I wanted her to have this much time for peace. I wanted her to have some time with her daughter and not have to be in the genre machine. She can actually enjoy her life for a while.”
The Kill Bill films have proven to be favourites among Tarantino’s fans and genre diehards alike. Quentin himself even calls it his “visionary cinematic contribution.” Whether these plans will come to fruition remains to be seen, but I’m sure the movie-going world would explode with joy should some official announcement be made.
