“The Outbreak Research and Development Centre has identified a new virus that appears to be spreading across parts of the UK. The virus, which has been named the Rage Virus, has been identified as a virulent blood-borne infection that is thought to have spread from an animal host.
“The government has issued an urgent call out for all citizens to report to their nearest vaccination centres for treatment. If you know of people who have not yet booked their vaccination you must urge them to get in touch with the NSH immediately.
“Following recent budgetary cuts to the National Service for Health there is a limited vaccination programme. All members of public have been urged to visit NSH to book their appointments. “
So goes the latest viral video and press release from Secret Cinema; the company which recreated Back to The Future‘s Hill Valley in London a couple of years ago (read our review of the event here) and wowed patrons mere months ago with their immersive experience recreating Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back; now heading into their first ever horror production with Secret Cinema Presents: 28 Days Later.
Already receiving support from director Danny Boyle, producer Andrew MacDonald, and screenwriter Alex Garland, Secret Cinema’s recreation of 28 Days Later will take place in London, on a huge scale, in a secret location, and provide fans with a new way to immerse themselves in Boyle’s classic, 2002, horror film; which saw Cillian Murphy (Batman Begins) star as a man who awoke from a coma to find London (and potentially the world) had been ravaged by a disease which effectively turned anyone infected into super-quick, rage-fuelled, zombies (hence the Rage Virus mentioned above).
Yet Secret Cinema aren’t just using the event as a way of making money – sure tickets cost £64.50 + booking fee (VIP tickets are £129 + booking fee, or Wednesday-Only Concession tickets – open to NHS Staff, members of the Armed Forces, Teachers, and Student Card holders – are available for only £40 + booking fee), but they’re also using it as a means of raising awareness and support for our Junior Doctors via the #JUSTHEALTH campaign.
You can show your support for the #JUSTHEALTH campaign, and our Junior Doctors – fighting against cuts to health budgets which are over-stretching hospitals around the country – here.
Secret Cinema Presents 28 Days Later will run from 14th April to 29th May 2016, and tickets are on sale now from the Secret Cinema website here: http://www.secretcinema.org/tickets – and after purchasing, don’t forget to register with your scheduled appointment time here.
You can also follow Secret Cinema on Facebook, or Twitter for more information and announcements.
