Known for playing Ray Winstone in pretty much every movie he’s starred in, Ray Winstone (who can now be seen in Noah) will soon be seen playing Gary Busey on the big screen, not literally of course, but picking up the role Busey played in in the remake of cult classic Point Break.
Directed by Kathryn Bigelow (Zero Dark Thirty) the 1991 film told the tale of a young FBI agent infiltrating a group of extreme sports enthusiasts who liked to pull of daring heists in their downtime. Luke Bracey (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) is set to take on the role initially brought to life by Keanu Reeves, and infiltrate the gang, led by Gerard Butler (Olympus Has Fallen); Patrick Swayze’s character from the original; and will be partnered with Winstone.
Scripted by Kurt Wimmer (the man behind the Total Recall remake script), and due to be directed by Ericson Core (the Invincible director), the Point Break remake is predicted for a release sometime next year.
