After the recent troubles in the US revolving around the murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, the upcoming comedy Neighbourhood Watch may have had it’s title changed (we’re now to refer to the movie simply as The Watch) but, judging by the newly released red band trailer (now available to view below), is still aiming to bring home the funny.
Starring Ben Stiller (There’s Something About Mary), Vince Vaughn (Dodgeball), Jonah Hill (Moneyball), and Richard Ayoade (Submarine), The Watch follows a group of four men who start a neighbourhood watch group (simply as a means of alleviating the boredom from their rather drab lives), only to discover that they are in fact living amongst an unknown number of aliens, who’re posing as humans for a supposed invasion.
Written by Seth Rogen (The Green Hornet) and Evan Goldberg (The Green Hornet), The Watch has been directed by Saturday Night Live’s Akiva Schaffer, co-stars Rosemarie DeWitt (Cinderella Man) and Billy Cudrup (Almost Famous), and is due to be released on July 27th in the US, before making its UK release date on August 29th.
