Taking to social media to give fans an update on the latest instalment in the action/horror franchise that is Resident Evil, star Milla Jovovich has confirmed that shooting was scheduled to begin imminently, yet Resident Evil: The Final Chapter has been delayed, as Millla Jovovich is expecting a new baby.
Due to film in Cape Town, South Africa, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will be the sixth film in the series. Once again written and directed by Paul WS Anderson (Milla’s real-life husband), it’s due to be filmed in 3D, and while little is known about the plot, it is known that Milla Jovovich will return as series heroine Alice, alongside returning star Li Bingbing (as Ada Wong).
While the pregnancy was obviously unexpected, Jovovich appears overjoyed with the news, but believes it’s “in everyone’s best interest to wait till the baby is born before setting out to try and tackle a Resident Evil movie” due to “the stunt work” and her changing figure, and have decided to delay production so that they can “make the best movie possible.”
Milla, Paul, and their upcoming bundle of joy, hope to fly to South Africa next year, and start filming Resident Evil: The Final Chapter in summer 2015, ahead of an assumed release in 2016.
