We’re now less than a month away from the release of the upcoming Planet of the Apes prequel; Rise of the Planet of the Apes; and are getting even more chances to see both images and clips from the film; which include the three newly released TV spots, which can be seen below.
Starring James Franco (127 Hours) as a scientist who’s working on a cure for Alzheimer’s, and tests his miracle drug on an ape named Caesar (who’s portrayed by The Lord of the Rings’ Andy Serkis through motion capture, and effects work by Weta Digital), the prequel will focus on the development of the ape; as he grows to a level of intelligence that the scientists couldn’t have predicted, gets removed from Will and his dementia suffering father (John Lithgow, Dexter), and, after discovering the dark side of the world, leads a huge ape rebellion against his human oppressors.
Also starring Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionarie), Brian Cox (Ironclad), and Tom Felton (Harry Potter), the Rupert Wyatt (The Escapist) directed movie is due to be released in the US on August 5th, before hitting UK screens on August 11th.
