Anyone who’s in the vicinity of San Diego, or specifically attending this year’s Comic-Con, and was shocked and intrigued by the recently released Machete trailers, will be interested to know that the official Machete party will be taking place tonight (Thursday).
The fun will be starting at 5pm, when Fox will be parking the Machete Taco Truck (customized by graffiti artist Mr. Cartoon) in the 5 Star Parking Lot at the corner of 5th Avenue and J Street; where Machete director Robert Rodriguez (Sin City), and actors Danny Trejo (From Dusk Till Dawn) and Michelle Rodriguez (Avatar), will be cooking, and giving away free tacos until 8pm (or when the supply runs out, whichever comes first).
Following the tacos (which should be quite tasty if the rumours about Rob’s superior cooking skills hold true) the Machete party begins at 9pm, and will be the setting for Rob and the cast to show some exclusive footage from the film (on a giant outdoor screen planted in the parking lot), before the DJ’s, Dancers, and live graffiti artists, get to work to entertain the masses (who will be overrun with more tacos and beer).
It promises to be a night to remember, and an interesting way to break up the usual sit-and-chat style panels that make up the majority of Comic-Con events; particularly as a handful of lucky attendees will get their hands on limited edition posters and commemorative t-shirts (provided they are 21, as anyone younger will not be permitted entry).
