Based on the Broadway stage play of the same name, the upcoming musical Rock of Ages features and all-star cast which boasts the likes of Tom Cruise (Mission: Impossible), Alec Baldwin (Beetlejuice), Catherine Zeta Jones (The Mask Of Zorro), and Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), and recently had its first trailer released online (now available to view below).
Set in the 1980s, and following a young girl named Sherrie Christia (Julianne Hough, Footloose) who heads to LA with the dreams of becoming a star, and ends up falling for not only a young bartender (Diego Boneta, Mean Girls 2), but the rock-God that is Stacee Jaxx (Cruise), Rock of Ages boasts a brilliant soundtrack of 80s rock music; including tunes from Def Leppard, Foreigner, Journey, Poison, Twisted Sister, and Starship.
Paul Giamatti (The Hangover Part 2), Russell Brand (Arthur), Will Forte (MacGruber), Kevin Nash (of Wrestling and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze/The Punisher fame), and Mary J. Blige (Bad Boys II), also co-star in the film which has been directed by Hairspray’s Adam Shankman, and is due to be released on June1st in the US, before making its UK release date on June 8th.
