Featuring an all star cast, an impressively nostalgia-inducing ‘80s Los Angeles setting, and a nigh-unbeatable soundtrack so good it could be the one musical you really don’t want to miss, Adam Shankman’s (Hairspray) Rock of Ages has just had its second trailer released online (now available to view below).
Starring Tom Cruise (Mission: Impossible) as all-round Rock-God Stacee Jaxx, Rock of Ages focusses on small-town girl Sherrie Christian’s (Flashdance’s Julianne Hough) attempts to become a rock-star in her own right, and the rock club in which she finds herself; a club run by Dennis Dupree (Alec Baldwin, 30 Rock), and in danger of being shut-down by the activist Patricia Whitmore (Catherine Zeta-Jones, The Rebound).
Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Malin Akerman (27 Dresses), Russell Brand (Forgetting Sarah Marshall), Paul Giamatti (The Hangover Part 2), Kevin Nash (The Punisher) and Mary J. Blige (Bad Boys II) also star in the musical which features songs from Def Leppard, Foreigner, Journey, Poison, and Twisted Sister, and is due to be released on June 15th in both the US and UK.
