Following the recent publicity tour for his directorial debut Lost River, Ryan Gosling has now entered into negotiations to star in the upcoming sequel to sci-fi classic Blade Runner.
Harrison Ford (who made waves last night with his appearance in the new Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens teaser trailer) will be reprising his role as Deckard from the first movie, which will also see Ridley Scott returning as Executive Producer, but sadly passing directing duties on to Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners).
Currently there’s next to no information available regarding the plot of Blade Runner 2 (including what’s its official title will end up being), and nothing to say who/what Drive star Gosling would be playing, but we do know the action will take place decades after the events of the first film, the script has been written by Blade Runner co-creator Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, and shooting is scheduled to begin in summer 2016, ahead of an as yet unannounced release date.
