From Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano (the directors behind The Intouchables) comes Samba; a French comedy/drama which marks the directors’ second collaboration with actor Omar Sy (who starred in The Intouchables), and looks to be filled with just as much heart as their last movie.
Samba tells the tale of a man who came to France ten years ago and worked a variety of low-paid, dead-end jobs in order to survive and avoid the authorities before he finally decides to apply for working papers, and finds himself facing deportation. Aided by a charity volunteer played by Charlotte Gainsbourg (Melancholia), Samba finds himself growing closer to his new aid worker, and hoping he gets to stay in the land he now calls home.
Co-starring popular French actress Izla Higelin and Tahar Rahim (A Prophet), Samba will make its official UK release date on May 1st.
