For the past several years Clint Eastwood (Gran Torino) has either confined himself to directing, or only starring in movies which he was directing; a pattern which he’s now broken by agreeing to star in the upcoming sports drama Trouble With the Curve, which may have just landed another star as Sandra Bullock (Crash) has now entered talks to appear in the film.
Billed as the directorial debut of Clint’s regular assistant director Robert Lorenz, Trouble With the Curve will place Eastwood as a baseball scout who’s not only approaching the end of his career, but struggling to continue as he battles against his slowly progressing blindness; a condition which leads to him to take his daughter (the role for which Bullock is being considered) on his latest trip to Atlanta, scouting a potential future star.
As of yet there’s no official release date, or shooting schedule, laid out for Trouble With the Curve, but as the script is finished, and already proving to be a big draw, it’s likely that things will start moving fairly fast, as soon as all the major deals are finalized.
