Well he said he’d be back, and now, following the scandal that put the ex-Governor of California’s plans to return to the world of acting on hold, Arnold Schwarzenegger has now confirmed that he will be returning to the big screen, and has re-joined Jee-woon Kim upcoming western Last Stand.

Coming from a blacklisted script by Andrew Knauer, Last Stand marks not only the writer’s debut, but the English language debut of director Jee-woon Kim (The Good, the Bad, and the Weird), and will focus on a small-town sheriff who takes on a drug cartel, while facing the end of his career (a role which Lionsgate said demanded “an iconic figure”), when it begins shooting in September, for a 2013 release.
