While the first season hasn’t even aired a single episode, the creators, and backers, of the upcoming Breaking Bad spin-off show Better Call Saul! (following everyones favourite lawyer without a conscience) obviously have faith in the show, as they’ve already commissioned a full second season.
Yet the good news masks a slightly bitter sting to make eager fans, as while AMC have also released the first official picture from the Vince Gilligan created show (which once again has writer/director Peter Gould on board), they’ve also had to push back the first season, and confirmed that the first season of Better Call Saul! has been delayed until early next year (2015).
Once again reprising his role as sleazy lawyer Saul Goodman, Bob Odenkirk will lead the new series, which will form a Breaking Bad prequel, and again be joined by Breaking Bad veteran Jonathan Banks (the Bullet star who’s reprising his role as fixer Mike Ehrmantraut), in a series which will consist of a 10 episode first season, and be followed up with a further 13 episodes in 2016.
However, while some fans remain dubious about the potential harming of the beloved cult show Breaking Bad, AMC president Charlie Collier assures us that there will be “no half measures” with Better Call Saul!, and that the studio, stars, and creators, are very proud and excited about their work to date, and are all extremely focussed on “making sure the show gets the launch it deserves” next year.
