It’s the moment that many a fanboy has been waiting for, ever since the initial announcement of Anne Hathaway’s (Alice in Wonderland) casting as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming third and final Batman movie; The Dark Knight Rises; and stories broke of her injuring stuntmen and bursting through multiple leather costumes, the first official photo of her in character, as Catwoman, has now been released (and is available to view below, and can be clicked to enlarge).
While the costume sticks to the traditional leathers, Nolan’s take seems to have ditched the usual hat, and gone in a slightly different direction with a pair of funky, and rather odd, shades, but the thing that will really hit fans, and, in typical Nolan style, raise more questions than it answers, is why oh why is Catwoman riding the Batpod?
There’s still plenty of time to find out, as even though we’ve already seen a teaser trailer, and the first poster, the film; which sees Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, and Gary Oldman, returning to the franchise, and being joined by three Inception stars (Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, and Tom Hardy); it’s not due to be released until July 20th 2012.
