Carell and Knightley find themselves Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World when they (along with everyone else on the planet) learn that a massive asteroid is hurtling towards the Earth, and is set to destroy every living thing on Earth; so with only three weeks left to live Carell’s wife leaves him, and he attempts to both fit in an entire mid-life crisis, meet up with his high-school girlfriend, and team-up with Knightley in order to get her back to her family before the inevitable end.
Written and directed by Nick And Norah’s Infinite Playlist writer Lorene Scafaria, Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World co-stars Patton Oswalt (Young Adult), Connie Britton (Spin City), T.J. Miller (Cloverfield), Gillian Jacobs (Community), William Petersen (CSI), Rob Coddry (Hot Tub Time Machine), Adam Brody (Mr & Mrs Smith), and Melanie Lynskey (Two and a Half Men), and is due to be released in the US on June 22nd, before making its UK release date on July 13th.
