While Pierce Brosnan’s upcoming action/thriller movie The November Man hasn’t even hit cinemas yet, the studio are obviously showing a good deal of faith in it, as they’ve already commissioned a sequel (as announced by Brosnan himself during an appearance on The Tonight Show, and followed by an official confirmation by Relativity).
Starring the former James Bond, The November Man is adapted from a series of 13 books by Bill Granger and will place Brosnan as an experienced CIA agent who takes a young rookie agent under his wing, before his own family end up threatened and he’s not only pitted against his former pupil, but caught up in a web of political corruption.
Robbie Brenner from Relativity has said “The November Man is a gritty series that re-invents the spy genre with its master Pierce Brosnan by combining the best elements of James Bond and Jason Bourne while echoing the cool, sleek action movies of the 70s,” adding how Relativity “are excited to launch the film later this month and to continue to explore Peter Devereaux’s dangerous world with Pierce over the years to come.”
Directed by Roger Donaldson (The Bank Job), and co-starring Luke Bracey (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) and Olga Kurylenko (Seven Psychopaths), The November Man is due to be released in the US on August 27th, though as as it’s yet to secure distribution here there’s still no official UK release date.
