Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (the comedy duo seen together in Spaced, Shaun of the Dead, and Hot Fuzz) star as two British geeks on an American road-trip like no other (which turns out to be any sci-fi lovers holiday heaven) in Paul; the soon to be released comedy Blu-ray and DVD introduced by the pair in the video below.
Starting at Comic-Con and moving onto sights such as the alien highway, Graeme and Clive (Pegg and Frost) pick up a rather unusual hitchhiker when they pass near Area 51, and agree to give Paul (Seth Rogen, The Green Hornet); an escaped, foul-mouthed, fugitive, joker of an alien who’s massive eyes, grey skin, and small stature, fit the alien stereotype perfectly; a ride.
Pursued by a special agent portrayed by Jason Bateman (The Switch), the journey brings the guys into contact with a number of hilarious characters; such as Sigourney Weaver (Alien), Jane Lynch (Role Models), and Kristen Wiig (The 40-Year-Old Virgin); along a hysterical journey that’s sure to entertain any comedy fan or sci-fi lover (particularly as it successfully manages to riff off so many popular and recognizable sci-fi institutions) when it’s released later this month.
Paul is being released in the UK on June 13th (but unfortunately won’t be released in the US until August 9th), will be available on standard DVD, Blu-ray Triple Play (consisting of a Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital Copy of the film), and even though it’s not mentioned in the video below, a collector’s edition Steelbook Blu-ray Triple Play release.
