Sons of Anarchy Renewed for Sixth Season

Coming off the back off an extremely successful, and well received, fourth season of Sons of Anarchy the show’s creator, writer, star, and show runner, Kurt Sutter (seen onscreen as Otto; the incarcerated member of the fictional biker clan) has recently signed a deal with both FX and 20th Century Fox (who produce the show) to stay on board with the series for another three years.

Word had already broken that Sons of Anarchy (SOA) had been renewed for a fifth season some time back, but following the recent announcement of Kurt’s deal we now know that FX have picked SOA up for a sixth season, and provided the ratings hold strong (which, given the fact the show is so well loved, and is the most watched original series ever screened by FX, is fairly likely) will also be back for a likely seventh season (which would complete Kurt’s three year deal, and be followed by either the end of the series, or a new deal being signed); meaning the show’s many fans will get to see plenty more of the outlaw biker gang they love so much.

It’s great news for the fans, and Sutter himself; who broke the news of his new three-year-deal over Twitter, making sure to acknowledge his network backers by saying “thank you FX and 20th for your generosity.”

Sons of Anarchy Season 4 is now showing on Wednesday nights at 10pm on 5USA, and has already finished its run in the US.
