After picking up numerous audience awards at a number of US film festivals (including the San Francisco Film Festival, the Nashville Film Festival, and the ColCoa Film Festival), winning the Grand Prix award at last year’s Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF), and claiming a Best Actor award for breakout star Omar Sy at the César Awards (the French equivalent of the Oscars; where it notched up an impressive nine nominations; including a nomination for Best Picture), Untouchable will soon be making its way into UK cinemas, and in order to celebrate its release we have the official Untouchable trailer now available to view below.
Omar Sy stars as the street-smart ex-con Driss in Untouchable, finding himself becoming a carer to disabled millionaire Philippe (François Cluzet), and forming a hugely rewarding friendship despite apparently having nothing in common, in this modern, prince-and-the-pauper, feel-good comedy that transcends all class and racial boundaries, and is all the more remarkable for being based upon a true story.
Hailed as an international phenomenon, Untouchable is the most awarded movie of the summer, has already out grossed blockbuster films such as Titanic, The Avengers, and Avatar in certain territories (even becoming the second most successful French film ever, a mere nine weeks after its release), is currently ranked #75 on the IMDB top 250 film list, and is due to make its official UK release date on September 21st.
