After the release of the hit action movie The Expendables, many people assumed that Sylvester Stallone’s next project would be the planned sequel to that film, however he chose to board a different upcoming action movie; Headshot; which will apparently be released under a different name when it finally hits cinema screens.
While still untitled at this point, the film places Stallone as a hitman who teams up with a young NYPD detective to solve a string of brutal murders that lead the pair from New Orleans to Washington D.C., and will co-star Fast & Furious regular Sung Kang (who played Han in the last three Fast films); most likely in the role of the detective, after Hung star Thomas Jane was fired so the studio could fill the role with somebody more ethnic.
Due to be directed by Walter Hill (48 Hrs.), the untitled action movie is set to begin filming in Louisiana later this month, and is set to be produced, in part, by Joel Silver’s Dark Castle Entertainment (who produced the Sylvester Stallone action films Demolition Man, and Assassins, and worked with Hill on 48 Hrs.), and is scheduled for release sometime next year.
