Summit Entertainment have been trying to find a big-name action-hero to headline their upcoming prison-break movie The Tomb for sometime; with both Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis having their names linked to the project at some point; and now they’ve finally done it, by securing a deal with the third Planet Hollywood owner, another of the world’s top three action heroes, and Expendables co-star Sylvester Stallone.
Stallone has just joined the film; which focusses on the designer of seemingly in-escapable prisons having to plan and execute and escape from one of his own maximum security facilities, after he’s framed for a crime he didn’t commit; which has been written by Protection’s Miles Chapman and Jason Keller (Machine Gun Preacher), but is currently lacking as director (since Antoine Fuqua has opted out so he can direct Hunter Killer), and as such The Tomb doesn’t have a definitive start date, or release date, as yet.
