With the theatrical debut of Star Wars: The Force Awakens now a mere two months away (and advanced tickets going on sale today), we have a brand new poster for Episode VII available to view below.
Showcasing many of the film’s new major characters (though, oddly, omitting Luke Skywalker), it’s a distinctly Star Wars poster; largely because it was designed by original Star Wars poster designer Drew Struzan; which focusses heavily on newcomers Rey, Finn, and Kylo Ren (played by Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Adam Driver respectively).
Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Oscar Isaac, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Gwendoline Christie are also all pictured, and while we’ve seen very little new visual footage recently a new trailer is scheduled to air following ESPN’s Monday Night Football in the US; meaning it should be online almost immediately thereafter, and available for UK viewers early Tuesday morning.
Directed by J.J. Abrams (Star Trek), Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens will be released on December 17th in the UK, ahead of its official US release on December 18th.
