Released back in 1997, Starship Troopers was an OTT teen-action-sci fi film that was immensely fun, spawned two sequels and an animated series, and is now due to receive the same fate as just about every other movie Hollywood has ever produced; Neal Moritz (I Am Legend producer) has just announced plans for an upcoming Starship Troopers remake.
Thor/X-Men: First Class contributors Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz are now on board to script the movie, which will likely attempt to re-capture the wit and unsubtle satire of the Paul Verhoeven original, and will of course feature a number of human soldiers fighting a brutal space-war against an army of giant marauding bugs, when the Starship Troopers remake eventually touches down.
