While directors Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo (the pair behind the well received foreign slasher film À l’intérieur) have been in place for a few months, it appears as though casting for their planned Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel is moving forward; as Stephen Dorff has just joined the cast.
Dorff, known for his roles in Blade, and Immortals, has signed on to play a Texas Ranger with a strong vendetta against the troubled young boy who will eventually mature into the skin of the hardened killer we know as Leatherface.
Itself titled Leatherface, the new movie is set during the iconic killer’s teen years, and won’t explicitly tell viewers who the young Leatherface is, but rather take the form of a mystery; presenting us with three potential young psychopaths, only one of which will grow up to become the chainsaw wielding maniac Leatherface.
