Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy) has recently confirmed, via another Facebook post, that the famed British actor/comedian Stephen Fry (known in the UK for A Bit of Fry and Laurie, or in the US for guest appearing on the TV series Bones) will be heading out to New Zealand, and joining the already impressive cast of his latest fantasy adventure, The Hobbit.
Fry will enter the two Lord of the Rings prequel movies as The Master of Laketown (also known as Esgaroth); a wooden city resting on top of a large lake; a place where men and elves do a good deal of trading, and the titular hobbit Bilbo (who’s being played by The Office’s Martin Freeman), his wizard friend Gandalf (Ian McKellen, X-Men), and their party of dwarves, will stop to rest during their long adventure.
In around three weeks time production on The Hobbit is scheduled to stop, as the cast and crew take a short break; allowing for time to complete some editing and visual effects work; before eventually getting back to work, and releasing the first movie in the two-part film on December 19th 2012, with part two due for release around Christmas 2013.
