Set in the summer of 1979, and harking back to the classic movies of the day, the upcoming sci-fi thriller Super 8comes from writer/director JJ Abrams (Lost) and producer Steven Speilberg (E.T.), and has just had its latest trailer released online (which is now available to view below).
Super 8 tells the tale of a band of young filmmakers who witness a horrific train crash, only to see their small Ohio town fall victim to the escaped military cargo the train was transporting, the town placed under quarantine, and the military and government types attempting to keep the whole thing under wraps, leading them to try and figure out what was inside the train by themselves.
Starring a cast of relative unknowns, that includes Joel Courtney, Zach Mills (Changeling), Gabriel Basso (The Big C), and Elle Fanning (Somewhere), as well as Kyle Chandler (Early Edition) and Ron Eldard (Black Hawk Down), Super 8 will make its US release date on June 10th, but won’t be released in the UK until August 5th.
