Taken was a huge surprise hit back in 2008, and as almost every successful film nowadays can’t be left as an enjoyable stand-alone affair, there’s now a sequel in the works; a sequel which has just placed All The Boys Love Mandy Lane‘s Luke Grimes in a key role.
Grimes is set to appear as the love interest of Kim Mills (Maggie Grace, Faster); who will not be kidnapped this time around, but instead swap roles with her ex-CIA father Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson, Batman Begins), and have to rescue him from the clutches of the father of one of the men he killed in the first movie (a nefarious villain due to be played by Snatch‘s Rade Sherbedgia); when Bryan and his ex-wife Lenore (Famke Janssen, X-Men) find themselves kidnapped and facing imminent death.
Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen have once again written the script for Taken 2, which is due to be directed by Oliver Megaton (Transporter 3), and scheduled to be released on October 5th 2012.
