Coming from writer/director and lead actor Nate Parker (Non-Stop), below you’ll find the new official trailer for The Birth Of A Nation; the upcoming tale of Nat Turner, an educated slave who orchestrated an uprising in the Southern US.
Tasked by his owner (Armie Hammer, The Lone Ranger) with using his wiles as a preacher to subdue a number of unruly slaves for other slave owners, Nat Turner soon witnesses a huge number of atrocities committed against his people; the severity, regularity, and indifference of which causes his to take action and spark an uprising in the hopes of securing freedom for his people.
Co-starring Jackie Earle Haley (currently seen on the small screen in AMC’s Preacher), Penelope Ann Miller (The Artist), Gabrielle Union (Bad Boys II), and Mark Boone Junior (Sons of Anarchy), The Birth of a Nation is due to be released on October 7th in the US, but won’t make its official UK release date until January 20th 2017.
