Coming from director Michaël R. Roskam (Bullhead), and screenwriter Dennis Lehane (the man who not only penned the short story Animal Rescue, on which The Drop is based, but wrote the novels behind Shutter Island, and Mystic River), you can now see the international trailer for The Drop below (beneath the new international poster, which can be clicked to be seen in full size).
Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises) leads the cast as a man with a past, living a poor part of New York, who gets accidentally drawn into the middle of an investigation into the robbery of a local bar; a bar which he tends for his cousin (played by The Sopranos’ James Gandolfini), and just happens to be a drop point for illegal merchandise and money.
Co-starring Noomi Rapace (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows), Matthias Schoenaerts (Bullhead), and John Ortiz (Silver Linings Playbook), The Drop is due to be released in the US on September 12th, but unfortunately won’t be making its official UK release date until November 14th, so until now, you’ll have to make to with watching the trailer, and taking a gander at the selection of stills from the film, which are also available to view below.
