Based on the best-selling novel by M. R. Carey, and directed by Colm McCarthy (best known for directing numerous episodes of hit British TV shows such as Sherlock, Doctor Who, Peaky Blinders, and more), The Girl With All The Gifts is a zombie film with a difference, as you’ll see by watching the official trailer below.
Starring Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace), Glenn Close (Guardians of the Galaxy), and Paddy Considine (Blitz), The Girl With All The Gifts takes place in a near-future world which has been decimated by a mutated final disease which eradicates free will and turns its victims into flesh-eating “hungries.”
Beginning with a group of children, who retain normal emotions and thoughts, being studied at an army base in rural England in the hopes of finding a cure, we’ll see the base eventually fall, and one particular child named Melanie (newcomer Sennia Nanua) not only saving her favourite teacher (Arterton), but being rescued by her as the pair go on the run with a soldier (Considine), and the biologist who was testing the children (Close), leaving Melanie to discover what she is, and possibly decide the future of the human race.
The Girl With All The Gifts is coming soon to UK cinemas.
