Amazing audiences and rising to become one of the best received films of last year The Hunger Games will soon be back with its first sequel, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire; the first trailer for which has just been released online, and is now available to view below.
Once again starring Jennifer Lawrence (who’s gone on to win an Oscar since the last movie) as Katniss Everdeen, the new film is based on the second book in Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games trilogy and will find Katniss returning home after winning The Hunger Games, only to leave on a compulsory “Victors Tour”, where she begins to sense a revolution is brewing, and quickly finds out that the President (Donald Sutherland) has plans to ensure that she, and all other Hunger Games’ winners, can no longer pose a threat to the Capitol.
Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, and Stanley Tucci will all be returning for the sequel which introduces new Games master Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman, Moneyball), has been directed by I Am Legend’s Francis Lawrence, and is due to be released on November 22nd in both the US and UK.
