Opening to widespread critical acclaim, the first season of The Killing (the US TV series, adapted from the Danish show of the same name) captivated audiences with it’s unique style and storyline; which followed a single murder case across the entire season, from three different perspectives; and has just been released on both Blu-ray and DVD, and in order to celebrate its release we have two clips from the show available to view below.
Starring Mirelle Enos (Big Love) as experienced homicide detective Sarah Linden, and Joel Kinnaman (who will soon be seen in this year’s remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) as her inexperienced partner Stephen Holder, the Seattle based show not only follows the investigation into the murder of a local teenager from the detective’s point of view, but also lets viewers see the devastating effect it has on the family, and even follows the ups and downs of a political campaign that becomes linked to the case; making The Killing refreshingly different, and much more engaging, than the multitude of murder-of-the-week procedural dramas that usually fill the TV schedule.
Out now to own on Blu-ray and DVD, The Killing was released on September 26th in the UK, and in order to celebrate its release we have two clips from the show available to view below; the first from the pilot episode, where Linden and Holder get to know each other a little better, and the second from the season finale, where Linden and Holder make a breakthrough in the case.
