We’ve already had a re-issue of Avatar, a 3D re-release of Toy Story, have a 3D release of Titanic scheduled for next April, and rumours of Terminator 2 eventually getting the 3D Treatment, and now Disney have announced they’re going to re-release their classic animated film, The LionKing, later this year.
Originally released back in 1994, The Lion King proved to be a landmark title for Disney; sparking a renaissance in animated films, and going on to be the highest grossing hand-drawn animated movie of all time (a title it still holds to this day); and the Mouse House are hoping to reignite the magic, and introduce a whole to generation of children to the tale of the Lion prince Simba, when it opens in cinemas on September 16th.
