While it might have a snappier title in the US (going under the name ‘The Pirates! Band of Misfits’), the upcoming animated adventure movie, The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists, has just had two trailers released online; one of which can be seen below, while the other is available over at Apple.
Coming from Aardman Animations; the studio who gave the world Chicken Run and Wallace and Gromit; and director Peter Lord (Morph), Pirates will tell the tale of a pirate captain who’s competing for, and clearly desperate to win, the coveted Pirate of the year Award, and has to contend with everything from ghosts, lepers, sea monsters, and the Queen’s navy, in order to achieve it.
Featuring the voices of Hugh Grant (Notting Hill), Jeremy Piven (Entourage), Salma Hayek (From Dusk Till Dawn), Martin Freeman (The Office), David Tennant (Doctor Who), Brendan Gleeson (28 Days Later), and Ashely Jensen (Extras), The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists is due to be released on March 30th 2012, well before sailing over to make its US release date on September 21st 2012.
