Lacking in faith and proving to be skeptical about the notion of possession, a young priest is talked into studying exorcism at the Vatican, and soon is not only confronting the darker sides of his faith, but some seriously troubled people, and the entirety of his beliefs, in The Rite; the upcoming thriller which is soon to be released on Triple Play Blu-ray and DVD.
Colin O’Donoghue stars as the young priest, in the movie that presents a fresh look at the real-life practices of exorcism in the world today, was inspired by true events, and also stars Anthony Hopkins (Silence of the Lambs), Cirian Hinds (Rome), and Rutger Hauer (The Hitcher).
In order to celebrate the Blu-ray and DVD release of The Rite we have two new clips from the Mikael Hafstrom (1408) directed movie; featuring Anthony Hopkins’ Father Lucas discussing the loss of faith, and also acting rather unnerving towards Colin O’Donoghue’s Michael.
