The Three Musketeers Trailer

Coming from director Paul W.S. Anderson (the director who seemed supremely impressed with his own use of 3D in Resident Evil: Afterlife) the upcoming movie The Three Musketeers is a new take on Alexandre Dumas’ classic adventure novel of the same name, and has recently had its first trailer released online (which is available to view below).

Placing Logan Lerman (otherwise known as Percy Jackson) in the role of musketeer wannabe D’Artagnan, the new movie provides a new take on the classic tale of the noble French guards who were superb swordsmen and often risked their standing, positions, and their lives, for their country, King, and principals against all odds.

Matthew Macfadyen (Spooks), Ray Stevenson (Rome), and Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans, 2010), will be starring as Athos, Porthos, Aramis respectively (the experienced musketeers who take the young D’Artagnan under their collective wing), and are being joined by Anderson’s wife Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil); as the sword-swinging damsel Milady; Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale); as the villainous Rochefort; Christoph Waltz (The Green Hornet); as the corrupt Cardinal Richelieu; and Orlando Bloom (The Lord of the Rings); in a small role as the Duke of Buckingham.

Like Anderson’s last (very successful) film; Resident Evil: Afterlife; The Three Musketeers has been filmed with the latest 3D technology, and will be making it’s 3D debut on October 14th in the U.S., and should be making its way over to the U.K. soon after (where the British public should be both interested, and bemused, as to why the titular French Musketeers are all so clearly British).
