Airing during the ‘60s and ‘70s, The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau held millions of viewers spellbound; as it was a truly pioneering programme that brought the hidden wonders of the world’s oceans into their living rooms for the first time; and is now being released on DVD.
Coming via a 19-disc mega set, the DVD release will feature every single episode of the acclaimed series that not only granted the viewing public a look at some amazing, never-before-seen, footage of the world’s oceans, but has been credited with raising public awareness of pollution, and a number of other ecological issues.
Chronicling the adventures of Cousteau and his crew, aboard the Calypso, The Undersea World allows viewers to explore the depths of the world’s oceans; journeying everywhere from the icy reaches of Antarctica to the coral jungles of the tropics, visiting sharks, whales, walruses and shipwrecks along the way; in this landmark natural history title, that can be viewed in its entirety, when it’s released on U.K. DVD, on May 23rd, along with three of his finest movies; The Silent World, World Without Sun, and Voyage to the Edge of the World; which are being released on both DVD and Blu-ray.
